Natural  Disaster 

Natural disaster - When disaster occurs due to natural forces, they are called natural disasters, over which man has hardly any control. A natural disaster is a disruption in the balance of the environment. Human activities play a role in the frequency and severity of disasters. The human factor raises the cost, in both property damage and loss of life. Understanding the causes of  natural disasters can provide clues to their prevention. Not all natural disasters can be prevented. Each natural disaster has its  factor and complications. Understanding the basic principles of ecology can provide keys to lessening their effects. They are also  severity or degree of damage can be further divided into three categories.

• Small Scale Disasters: Small scale disasters are those that extend from  50 kilometers  to 100 kilometers. So this kind of natural disaster does not cause too much damage to life property and forests. Example are collapse of buildings,floods and pollution. 
• Medium-scale disasters: Medium Scale disasters extend from 100 kilometers to 500 Kilometers. These cause more damage than a small scale disaster. Examples are Earthquake,Nuclear Explosions.
• Large-scale disaster : These disasters cover an area of more than 1000 Kms. These cause the most severe damage to the environment. Furthermore, these disasters can even take over a country if the degree is high. For instance, the wiping out of the dinosaur was because of a large scale natural disaster. and spread of virus all over the world like corona virus in 2019.

 

Natural disaster are the following types-

• Earthquakes 
• Tsunami 
• Flash Floods
• Volcanic eruptions
• Cyclones 
• Floods 
• Droughts
• Tornadoes

1) Earthquakes 

                   

     An earthquake is a vibration of the earth's  surface that follows  a release of energy on the earth's crust. Earthquakes happen along the fault lines.

It is measured by Ricther scale. It measures the intensity of the earthquake. Powerful vibrations or tremors felt during an earthquake are called seismic waves. These waves travel outward in all directions.  One of the most disastrous effects of an earthquake is the tsunami.

Preventive Measures of Earthquakes

•      Consult a professional to learn how to your home sturdier, such as bolting bookcases to wall studs, installing strong latches on cupboards, and strapping the water heater wall studs. 
• Locate a place in each room of the house that you can go to in case of an earthquake. It should be a sport where nothing is like to fall on you. 
• Keep a supply of canned food, an up-to-date first aid kit, drinking water,dust masks  and a working battery-operated radio and flashlights

2) Tsunami 

      Tsunami is a Japanese word meaning harbour waves. A tsunami is a series of waves with a long wavelength and period. Tsunamis are generated by a large impulsive displacement of the sea bed. Tsunamis are generated by earthquakes of the seafloor, landslides under water and volcanic activity. It range from on meter to over 30 metres in height.

Preventive measures

   

•     Tsunamis cannot be prevented. However, there are ways to help stop people dying from a tsunami. International and regional warning systems, especially for the all beaches have  issue alerts before the big waves reach the shore.
  

           

   

3) Flash Floods 

    Tsunami is A  Flash flood is rapid flooding of low- lying like, dry lakes, rivers and basins. It may be cause by heavy rain associated with severe thunderstorm,hurricane, tropical storm or melt water from ice or snow flowing over ice sheets or snow fields.

  

               
 Preventive measures

•  The area must be evacuated at the first  sign of warning.
• Important and essential items like drinking water, food and flash light must be taken while going to a shelter. 
• Electrical appliances must be disconnected to avoid short circuit resulting in fire. 
• Flooded areas and creeks must be avoided by individuals.
• Monitoring of radios and televisions is essential to keep a track of weather forecasts and warning, in case it is possible.

Conclusion 

         we can conclude that natural disaster can prevent but if we ignore that things it could be became uncontrolled and we cannot do anythings

and it will cause various damage to property, life and hazardous to animals.
